In the build-up to Qatar National Day on 18th December, Harvard American School celebrated our love for our host country with several special activities including assemblies, Qatari food, class events and outdoor celebration. Our students had many opportunities to find out more about Qatari culture.

The Qatar National Day assemblies were fantastic celebrations of the Qatari culture and traditions and the children all performed their roles with poise and great dignity. It was inspiring to see so many members of our school dressed in the national colors of Qatar.

Our Qatari students were so proud to share their feelings about their homeland.

The outdoor celebrations again proved to be a great way to bring children together and socialize in a different way than normal. Thank you to our wonderful school community, our talented children and staff for helping us make the celebrations such a fantastic success.

Today a Reader Tomorrow a Leader

In the light of Project-Based Learning, Robert M. Hutchins says: “Education is not to reform students or amuse them, or to make them expert technicians. It is to unsettle their minds, widen their horizons, inflame their intellects, and teach them to think straight, if possible.”

Therefore, our grade seven and eight students have summarized the basic common core standards of reading English literature and transformed it into a book!

We were stunned by how talented, organized, and involved the spirit of teamwork was!

We are proud of you, seventh and eighth-graders, and congratulation on the winners!!!

“Fantasy is hardly an escape from reality. It’s a way of understanding it”. Therefore, our grade four, five and six students have traveled in the world of fantasies to write their own stories during the English session. After that, they have presented their artistic work with confidence on stage and surprised us with their public speaking skills! Fourth graders, we are so proud of you!!
